1 Overview & Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how NoStrings Browser ("NoStrings", "the App", package ID com.nostrings.browser) handles information when you install and use the application on Android devices.

NoStrings Browser is a standalone, static client-side web browser. We do not maintain any remote backend servers, cloud databases, advertising networks, or analytics trackers. Consequently, we do not collect, transmit, rent, or sell any personal or non-personal user data.

2 Information We Do Not Collect

When you browse the web using NoStrings Browser, we never collect, log, or have access to:

• Browsing History & Search Queries: Websites you visit and keywords you type are sent directly from your device to the destination website or search engine you selected.
• IP Addresses & Network Identifiers: We never log your IP address, device ID, advertising ID, or location.
• Proxy Credentials & Custom Headers: Any HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS5 proxy details or custom User-Agent / Anti-Detect headers you configure are processed locally on your device via an internal loopback bridge (127.0.0.1) and are never transmitted to us.
• Downloaded Files: Files you download stream directly from the source website into your device's local Downloads storage folder.

3 Local On-Device Data Storage

To provide core browser functionality, the App stores your preferences locally inside Android's sandboxed application storage (SharedPreferences) on your device:

4 Android Permissions We Request & Why

NoStrings Browser requests only the minimum Android system permissions necessary for web browsing and media playback:

• android.permission.INTERNET: Required to connect to websites, search engines, and file downloads that you initiate.
• android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used solely to display local media playback controls (Play, Pause, -10s/+10s Seek) and download progress in your Android notification shade.
• android.permission.WAKE_LOCK: Used solely to keep audio and video playing smoothly in the background when you minimize the app.
• android.permission.VIBRATE: Used for optional tactile haptic feedback on button taps (can be disabled anytime in Settings).

5 Third-Party Websites, Search Engines & Proxies

NoStrings Browser allows you to access third-party websites and choose among search engines such as Google, DuckDuckGo, Brave Search, Bing, and Yahoo, or enter your own custom search engine or proxy server.

When you visit a third-party website, use a search engine to fetch live keyword autocomplete suggestions, or route traffic through a proxy server you configured, your connection goes directly to that third-party service. Those websites and services are governed by their own respective privacy policies.

6 Incognito Mode

When you switch to Incognito Mode in NoStrings Browser, pages you visit are not saved to your local browsing history, and you can close all Incognito tabs and wipe session cookies immediately from the Tab Containers window or Menu.

7 Children's Privacy

NoStrings Browser does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction), as the App performs zero data collection altogether.

8 Changes to This Privacy Policy & Contact

If we update this Privacy Policy in future versions of the App, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Our core commitment to zero data collection will remain unchanged.
